Pirovac is a lively Dalmatian town situated at the farthest western point of the Šibenik and Knin's county. Together with Primošten, Vodice and Murter, Pirovac is the most important municipal tourist centre of the Šibenik riviera.
Mild climate, well-indented coast, numerous coves and pebble beaches, scented pine forests and centenary olive-groves guarantee unique delights and experiences to all visitors of Pirovac.
At the entrance of this seven centuries old town stand the grand city gate which even today astonishes everyone with the power and the beauty of its stone. The city gates once had a bridge that was closed during the night, but nowdays their main purpose is to be a worthy reminder of glorious moments from history. Specifically, as the Ottomans never succeeded in conquering Pirovac in their war campaigns, the town received a name „Zloselo“, which means evil village and this name is still popular among the locals.
The Pirovac Bay is famous of its warm sea. The sea temperature in the bay is always about 4°C above the average temperature of the Adriatic Sea due to mild currents. Thanks to the curative mud on the south side of Pirovac bay, the Makirina cove is definitely worth of your visit, as well as the cove Vrulje and the nearby islet of love, Sustipanac. Embark on a boat trip to the islet and discover yet unseen sunsets, sea glow, rocks and stones!
Likewise, Pirovac is only 5 kilometer away from the Nature Park „Vransko jezero“ that gathers all the passionate anglers.
